The Bachelor of Divinity (BD) programme in the Bishop Tucker School of Divinity and Theology (BTSDT) at Uganda Christian University (UCU) aims at preparing men and women for pastoral and academic ministries throug the knowledge and love of God based on the clear understanding of the Word of God. Preparing faithful leaders who are called to seve God in both church ministry and public life sits at the core of the programme. Thus, all the courses in the programme ground students with the biblical and theological skills in preaching, teaching, evangelism, and missions. In addition, the BD programme also provides the students and staff a Christian fellowship, reflecting the values and priorities of teh Church of Jesus Christ, rather than those in a liberal and secular university.
The BD programme also provides theological and foundational courses coded FS, which enable the students to be grounded with skills for holistic ministry. It also emphasizes practical training through placement to enable students to develop practical skills in pastoral ministry. Also, students complete a research project and placement report in their final year of study. Thus, the BD programme focuses on training faithful leaders in Christian living, and equipping them to preach, evangelize, teach, care for, and pastor God's people in knowledge and love of God throughout the world.
