The Relevance (Why the course is being taught)

Course Aim:

This program aims to train the next generation Public Health Inspectors (Assistant Environmental Health Officers) who will play a critical role in conducting a number of community based comprehensive programmes which include and are not limited to;- disease surveillance; health education and promotion; outbreak investigation, and control; premises inspection; food safety inspection; water and environmental sanitation management including waste management; environmental health formative and action research; and emergency health services.

Target Groups:

This course targets; - Health Workers like: Health Assistants, Registered Nurses and Midwives, Registered Comprehensive Nurses, and Laboratory Assistants with a Certificate in any of the above two-year medical and health related courses.

Duration:

2 years

Minimum entry:

Basic Certificate in any of the above two year medical and health related professional programme.
