The Relevance (Why the course is being taught)

Automotive Mechanics course is aimed at producing Automotive Mechanics who are relevant to the industry and world of work. It is trainee-centered and practical-based. It emphasizes acquisition of skills by the trainees, through practical learning and execution of real life projects.

The course produces automotive mechanics capable of:

  1. Fabricating components and machine parts
  2. Maintaining engines in good working conditions
  3. Maintaining the transmission and suspension systems of a vehicle
  4. Installing, repair and maintenance of the electrical/electronic systems in a vehicle
  5. Etc…

The Course emphasizes the following aspects of learning

Academic Career Prospects

National Certificate in Automotive Mechanics graduates may opt to further their skills and education by offering a diploma and eventually a degree in any of the following Engineering fields:

  • Diploma in Mechanical Engineering.
  • Diploma in Any Other Related Course/ Program.
  • Any related bachelor’s degree on fulfilling the mature age entry requirements

To be admitted to this course, the applicant must have completed and attained the Uganda Certificate of Education (UCE) with at-least passes in EnglishPhysicsMathematics, and any other science subjects or at-least a pass in the Uganda Junior Technical Certificate.
