A young man in Uganda who was once homeless after losing both parents has grown up to become a pilot.
Fred Ssengendo Kajoba, 27, this year obtained a private pilot’s license, making him one of the few people in the country qualified by the airline industry to fly an aircraft.
“Fred dreamed of one day becoming a pilot,” Watoto US revealed in a statement on November 29.
After losing his parents, Fred together with his sister only identified as Joan were welcomed into Watoto where they received a home, an education, and a family that cherished them.
“I’m so happy and very proud of my brother. He makes me feel like everything is possible.” Joan told the Ministry organisation.
Watoto said they are incredibly proud of both Joan and Fred, and grateful to sponsors and partners around the world who have made a lasting impact on their lives.

In a video posted online, Fred gave thanks to God, and also saluted one of his sponsors identified as Wayne King, team member at HOPEthiopia, a not for profit organization that cares of orphan children and individuals that are in great need in East Africa.
“Nothing is impossible with God,” he said.
“It is time to make King Jesus famous,” he added.
Fred urged viewers never to give up on their dreams regardless of whatever obstacles they find along the way. He also noted that regardless of whatever might have happened in your past, one can start taking action to achieve the kind of future they want.

After graduating from university, Fred’s sister decided to serve as an ‘auntie’ in the Watoto Children’s Choir mentoring the next generation.
