Fort Portal School of Clinical Officers (FP.SOCO) was started in 1969 by the Ministry of Health to train Medical Assistants and the school was known as the School of Medical Assistants Fort Portal. It started from the King’s Palace but in 1971 it was transferred to its present location. The school is Government aided.
The school mandate is to provide clinical medicine and community health training. This mandate is derived from the Constitution of the Republic of Uganda 1995; the Education Act 1964; the Education Sector Investment Plan 2003; the University and Tertiary Institutions Act 2003 and other Regulations. what about the BTVET Act
