WIN-IT was established in 2012 and due to its focused approach for only two years of its existence; WIN-IT has evolved into a technology institute with undisputable record in ICT skills development, knowledge transfer and solutions development. For example, the internship program has already enabled about 600 (six hundred) ICT students to undertake and successfully complete their internship/attachment programs, and about 200 Uganda’s youths to undergo work-tailored/short courses in ICT. Currently, the institute is finalizing modalities for delivery of an ICT apprenticeship program for artisans (jua kalis).
WIN-IT is in process of registration for licensing by the Ministry of Education and the National Council for Higher Education (NCHE) that will enhance authenticity of the courses offered by the institute. This registration and licensing will also enhance the chances for WIN-IT affiliating with global, regional and nationally reputable academic and training institutions. All these plans and interventions will be detailed in WIN-IT’s business strategy and investment plan being developed.
