The Relevance (Why the course is being taught)

The purpose of Postgraduate Diploma in Critical Care Nursing (Adult) is to strengthen and deepen students’ knowledge and expertise in adult critical care as a specialty of the nursing profession. It is designed to develop the student’s skills based on current thinking, practice, and research methods in the field of adult critical care nursing. The aim is to empower the critical care nursing specialists with key competencies i.e.: ; knowledge, skills, attitudes, and values

Course Entry Requirements

  1. Possess a Bachelor’s degree in Nursing or Midwifery obtained from a recognized university
  2. Have passed ordinary level certificate with a minimum of 5 passes in Mathematics, English, Biology, Chemistry and Physics
  3. Have passed Advanced level (“A” level) certificate and obtained at one sitting 2 principal passes in Biology and Chemistry.
  4. Be registered with the Uganda Nurses and Midwifery Council or relevant authority in the applicant’s country
  5. Have successfully completed two years of nursing/midwifery practice
  6. Include two letters of recommendation with at least one academic and the other professional
