Justification

The financial sector is dynamic and has been growing with the emergency of new areas like finance, capital markets & microfinance whose manpower requirements must be met to effectively contribute towards the growth of these sectors. Against this background and the growing mature of these sectors, the feedback from the stakeholders reveal the need to produce graduates to fill the manpower requirements of the sector. It is the purpose of this degree to train graduates in the areas of microfinance, insurance and finance to shape the emerging and growing sectors of the economy. The graduates of the programme will be ably positioned to advance in career and atain the professional qualification of Chartered Financial Analysts.

With the globalization and liberalization of the financial sector in Uganda, there is need to prepare the students to till the gap in the financial world in Uganda especially as Fund managers, Treasurers, Specialists in areas of Microfinance, Lending and Financial Analysts , and Financial Forecasters and Microfinance experts.
