The Relevance (Why the course is being taught)

This unique course has been designed with the underlying rationale that any child will learn to their fullest potential as long as they achieve or are helped to achieve their health development milestones. Graduates will be able to recognize health challenges of children under their care enabling the educational needs of the children to be holistically met. The student in this program receives competences to recognize asses and address a child’s health challenges and impart the appropriate learning requirements of the child in a holistic manner within the learning environment.

The course imparts competences in Child health education and practices, child healthcare like (First aid, Immunization, Nutrition and Primary Healthcare), Embryology and Development disorders, Educational Psychology, Pathology of childhood diseases, Anatomy and Physiology, Disability and inclusion, Educational Technology in ECD, Management in ECD in addition to the general educational courses in Early Childhood Education.
