The Relevance (Why the course is being taught)

Diploma in Clinical Medicine is a 3 year program that prepares a student to become a Clinical Officer who can work in any hospital (government and private) offering diagnostics and treatments for patients. At the end of this course, a student can further upgrade to Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery, Bachelor of Pharmacy and other related Degrees in the Health Science Field

Students sit a national wide exam by Uganda Allied Health Examination Board and receive transcripts from Ministry of Health. This same exam is sat by other Health Insititutions (Government and Private)

The training is regulated and supervised by Allied Health Professionals Council (AHPC) Uganda; and it is an authorized Examination Centre for the Uganda Allied Health Examinations Board (UAHEB).

Course Entry Requirements

Requirements include; UACE with Principal in Biology and Subsidiary Pass in Chemistry plus any other subsidiary or a Ceritificate in any health related field e.g Nursing. Also Five credits in English, Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry and Biology at O- level.

  1. Graduates can work as Clinical Officers in Hospitals around the country
  2. Can branch to other Health Science courses such as Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Pharmacy, Bachelor of Pharmacy, Nursing
  3. Graduates can own clinics to the level of Health Center 3
  4. Can Manage and supervise Health Centers 3
  5. Can work on any health condition under their clearance from Allied Health Professionals Council
