Background

The development challenges faced by different societies require abroad range on intervention since not all plans generate operational programs. With modernity and technological change, many aspects in life have changes tremendously affecting the social net work of people, live hood patterns and their welfare

Rationale for the course

Vulnerable groups have had their development disrupted due to different circumstances they have experienced. Sometimes people fail to adjust or cope with problem by themselves. This is when they need both governments and development patterns has not translated into critical development outcomes for different communities. Therefore, there apparent new for training of manpower capable of managing community structure activities with due rigid to gender and cultural sensitizing. Qualified social interventions who fully understand the parameters of social programming are needed in communities to steer development, alleviate distress and human suggesting.

Course Objectives

  • By the end of the program, students will be able to support communities to initiate and participate in the management of development programs.
  • Apply knowledge and skills to stimulate social functioning in various communities with different cultures.
  • Participate in relief, rehabilitation and development programmes for as with communities.

Course Entry Requirements

At least five (5) passes at “O” level (UCE) or its equivalent and one relevant principle and two subsidiary passes obtained at the same sitting at “A” level (UACE) or its equivalent or a post “O” level diploma / certificate.
