We are all working at getting somewhere. We wake up everyday to pursue dreams, to chase success, to work for a better life.

Athletes go through intense training because they want to get their hands on the gold. Singers do immense vocal classes because they want to sound better and eventually get an album to their names.

Sometimes life is like blowing air in a pink ballon. The ballon is beautiful but the process is painful. The jaws hurt while trying to fill the ballon with air. Imagine someone pricking that balloon just when you are about to tie the knot and hang it somewhere. On our journey to reach our dreams, we get tripped along the way. Someone says you’re not good enough, or you’re trying too hard, you are a loser… Gradually, we start to doubt our ability to perform.

Our dreams are like the ballon and the words people say prick our dreams but we have a chance to hold the air before it’s completely blown out .

And here’s how;

You are not in the wrong field

First you need to understand that people always have opinions but they are not the absolute truth. The first time I was told I sucked at writing, I was torn. How could I be so bad at the thing I love doing the most. I started getting all these thoughts that maybe am misplaced, I should be doing something else. However deep inside of me I didn’t care how pathetic I was at writing. All I knew is that writing is all I have ever wanted to do.
If tomorrow you wake up and still have the urge to do the same thing that people said you suck at, then don’t let go of the reins.

Encourage yourself

We all want to hear praise reports about what we do. But sometimes that is not the case. We get crashed by negative opinion. However what you need to understand is that nobody cares about what you do more than yourself.You’ve got to rise up from the fall, dust yourself up and walk. There is a dream waiting for you to achieve.

You are not alone

People have failed at stuff. The greatest innovations today were created by people who failed, people no body believed in. All I can say is you got company.

Take it as constructive criticism

Sometimes it is good to be reflective. Find out what went wrong along the journey. Instead of being offended, grow, explore yourself, discover, become introspective. This will help you become better.

There you have it. Don’t sulk and slacken. Live life like you want it.
