In Canada, 2 million people work in hospitality and tourism. They created over 4% of Canada's GDP in 2023.
Hospitality and tourism students build skills which are transferable to businesses worldwide. Plus, credentials in hospitality fields (like food and beverage, travel, entertainment, and accommodation) can lead to management roles or careers in exciting locations.
In 2024, Alberta launched the Tourism and Hospitality stream of the Alberta Advantage Immigration Program. It's a route to permanent residency for graduates with an eligible job offer in these growing fields.
