The Women Techsters initiative is aimed at bridging the digital and technology knowledge divide between men and women as well as ensuring equal access to opportunities for all. We are empowering girls and women across Africa with varying degrees of digital, deep tech and soft skills required within the technology ecosystem.
The initiative will empower 5 million African women over the next 10 years (2020-2030) through a series of activities held simultaneously across different countries.
Our objective is to grow and support an army of tech-empowered girls and women across Africa who will have equal access to decent job opportunities as well as build and scale their ideas into tech-enabled businesses and deep tech startups, which will aid Africa’s economic growth.
The Women Techsters program is a FREE 1-year experiential learning technology upskilling program that empowers young girls and women, ages 16 to 40 years across Africa with global in-demand skills relevant to kickstart careers and businesses in technology. The program aims to bridge the digital and technology knowledge divide between men and women in the technology ecosystem and ensure equal access to technology opportunities for women and girls.
The Women Techsters Fellowship is a highly competitive program, admitting only the top 3% of applicants. The Fellowship program will commence in September 2023 and run for a 1-year period. The first 6 months is a virtual technical and soft skills training, while the last 6 months are dedicated to experiential learning (Internship) or business incubation and mentorship.
Kindly note that technical and soft skills are pre-requisite to accessing internship and mentorship opportunities in the Women Techsters Fellowship Program.
We are rooting for you as you kickstart a very critical step in commencing your journey as a woman in tech, and we earnestly look forward to receiving and reviewing your application.
