First order of business, Present the show, (I am currently without a co-host), 6-10am, after the show, have breakfast as I check my emails. I respond to those that need my response. Update other members of the traffic team on any changes as regards adverts, Read newspapers and plan for the next day's show, attend planning meetings for different activations the station is running
Hosting the early morning show, 6-10am(Mon-Fri) and Sundays 8-10am. Everything traffic(There is a lot involved but basically, scheduling adverts and making sure they run, generating reports for clients
I am not a morning person so getting up at about 5am daily is a challenge. Finding interesting topics for discussion. I currently do not have a co host and that makes hosting a morning show a bit of a challenge
Ability to think on my feet, creativity,fun personality on air, knowledge/being informed/being in the know of what is happening and forming an intelligent opinion, music knowledge
I get paid to play music and talk
The early mornings, it is very competitive industry and you're always under scrutiny
I heard about the opening from a friend, I applied for it and made it through numerous interviews and voice tests
Power fm. They were the first station I listened to that made me feel like I wanted to be on the other side. Power fm is my first love as far as radio stations go.
To a large extent yes
Well, I studied all the sciences up to O level, offered Physics, Economics, Math and French at A Level. I am not sure they have influenced it in anyway; maybe in the future
I have a Bachelor's Degree in Building Economics from Kyambogo University
The extra curricular activities that allowed me to discover and nurture my other skills outside of the classroom.
When I can afford it, I want to undertake some training in Marketing and Public Relations
Just getting an opportunity to be on radio, to learn from people who have way more experience than myself and to be trusted to host a show by myself makes pretty much everyday, give or take a few grouchy mornings, a rewarding experience
