The Relevance (Why the course is being taught)

Welcome to Victoria University's Nursing Programme, where we prioritize the ethics of care, critical thinking, and a spirit of inquiry in education, practice, service, and research.

We recognize that persons and individuals are holistic and culturally diverse beings with an integrated body, mind, and spirit. Each person is unique, possessing dignity and a right to self-determination.

We believe that nursing is a professional discipline with multi-faceted academic and practice dimensions. Nursing is both an art and science profession with its own body of knowledge: concepts, theories, conceptual models, and principles that are used to execute nursing care. Our holistic approach to developing nurses ensures they are well-trained, knowledgeable, and skilled practitioners who can excel across the range of challenges and contexts they will encounter in their professional lives.

We value scholarship and academic integrity and foster professional involvement and a commitment to lifelong learning in our students and graduates. At Victoria University's Faculty of Nursing and Health Sciences, we believe that patients must be treated with care and respect. Caring opens the possibility of healing for persons, families, and communities.

We are committed to equipping our nurses with the skills and knowledge necessary to provide compassionate care while promoting the well-being of all patients. Join us at Victoria University's Nursing Programme and become a well-rounded, competent nurse who upholds the values of respect, equity, and access for all individuals.
