Exams are over and school is out. And students are thinking to themselves, “Now what am I going to do with all of this free time?”
Sure, there are games to play, movies to watch, and friends to hang out with. But there are also plenty of productive things to do during the school holidays.

Here are some of the things you can do in your vacation

Take an online course.

The student Hub is organizing an online training program in Website Design and Graphics Design geared to preparing the youth for self-employment in the IT Industry. In this course, you will get a chance to learn from experts in Website Designing and Graphics Designing in the comfort of your living room.  You can sign up here

The Insurance Training College is organizing a vacists program where you will learn ICT Skills, Public Speaking, and the fundamentals of insurance. With this certificate, you will be able to get a job as an agent in an insurance company.

Watch educational YouTube videos.

Here are a few of my favourite educational YouTube channels:

Learn a new language.

Visit these websites and learn a new language:

Learn a new skill.

You could learn skills like…

  • Public speaking
  • Cooking
  • Drawing
  • Self-defence

Read.

I strongly recommend that you read these four books:

Visit a nearby university or Institution

Colleges and universities are so full of youth, passion, knowledge, and potential.
This school holiday, visit one in your area. Learn about the courses and programs offered, and get a feel for the campus culture. You might just leave the campus with a clearer vision of your future plans and goals.

Volunteer.

An Idle mind is a devil's workshop. During this vacation, there are so many youth lead organizations where you can volunteer your time. As you volunteer you care about acquiring valuable skills that can make you very competitive in the marketplace. Check out organizations like 40:40 , Reach a Hand, Naguru Teenage Center and any other Non Government Organizations in your Community

Bottom line

As you follow your plan, I’m confident that you’ll have a meaningful, productive and fun-filled school holiday
