You will learn the importance of avoiding bias, giving due respect to counter-arguments, while still presenting the strongest possible case for your point of view. You will learn how to interpret an essay question and formulate your thesis statement, to structure your essay for clarity, and to use formal academic language. You will also learn how to apply critical thinking in order to recognise bad reasoning, avoiding logical fallacies.
