St. Kizito’s Technical Institute, Madera is a Government aided Institution founded by the Catholic Church in 1947 as a Vernacular Teacher Training College. It became a Rural Trade School in 1956, majoring in training of artisans and war veterans to help missionaries in the fields of building, carpentry and joinery, electrical installation tailoring and motor vehicle mechanics. In 1975 it was promoted to the level of a Technical School and later in 1986 it attained Technical Institute status. In 2009-2011, the government of Uganda constructed new facilities under ADB which were commissioned on 23rd February 2013 by H.E Y.K Museveni.
