National Certificate in Plumbing

Plumbing course is aimed at producing plumbers who are relevant to the industry and world of work. It is trainee-centered and practical-based. It emphasizes acquisition of skills by the trainees, through practical learning, projects and Innovation as well as industrial training at the end of each academic year.

The course produces plumbing professionals capable of:

  1. Carrying out installations of appliances and water pipes
  2. Maintaining and repairing water facilities and equipment.
  3. Installing drainage and water disposal systems.
  4. Supervising and inspecting plumbing works.
  5. Making fabricated facilities, fittings and products.
  6. Upholding and promoting safety standards in the workplace and general public.

The Course emphasizes the following aspects of learning

  3. Construction companies, public works department and rural development agencies
  4. Power generation, transmission and construction projects
  5. Self-employment as technicians in manufacturing and service sectors

Academic Career Prospects

A graduate of National Certificate in Plumbing may opt to further their skills and education by offering a diploma and eventually a degree in any of the following areas

  • National Diploma in Water Engineering
  • National Diploma in Civil Engineering
  • National Diploma in Architecture
  • Any related bachelor’s degree on fulfilling the mature age entry requirements

To be admitted to this course, the applicant must have completed and attained the Uganda Certificate of Education (UCE) with at-least passes in EnglishPhysicsMathematics, and any other science subjects or at-least a pass in the Uganda Junior Technical Certificate.
