About
ganda Institute of Information and Communications Technology (UICT), located at Plot 9-21 Port Bell Road, Nakawa, Kampala, Uganda, was established in 1965 as the East African Posts and Telecommunications Training Centre.
Following the enactment of the Uganda Communications Act, 1997, the training centre was transferred to the Uganda Communications Commission. The Commission changed the name of the centre to Uganda Communications Institute, and later to the present name of Uganda Institute of Information and Communications Technology.
